About Me
My background
I was born in Lancashire before moving to rural Cumbria as a small child and, after a short spell in New Zealand, I moved to this area in 2005. I now live in Heysham with my husband and two kids. In my spare time I like to grow my own fruit and veg or relax with a good book. I worked in catering for many years before going to uni as a mature student and I’m now a project manager and engagement facilitator, having worked in public health and for a small business. I have also worked supporting relatives of people with severe mental illness.
I believe in a country where people are supported to thrive. Where people have a good education, a decent job, a warm home and the makings of a good life. Unfortunately as a direct result of the Conservative Government, not everyone has that.
My life experiences as a mum, as a carer, as a low paid worker and as a public servant have all informed my work in politics, I work hard, I am persistent, and I advocate my constituents without fear or favour.
