Register to Vote
Registering to vote is quick, easy, and ensures that your voice is heard come election time, to register simply visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Once you’ve registered you only need to register again if you moved house and if you have mobility issues or are likely to be away from home come election time you can register for a postal vote at https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote.
If you’re voting in person, you’ll need photo ID to cast your ballot, this can include:
- Your passport,
- Your drivers’ license or provisional drivers’ license,
- Your blue badge,
- Your older or disabled persons’ bus pass,
- An identity card with a ‘Proof of Age Standardisation Scheme’ (PASS) hologram,
- An eVisa, if you’re entitled vote in UK elections,
- A defence identity card (MoD form 90) or HM Armed Forces Veteran Card (MoD form 100),
- A voter authority certificate, or
- An anonymous elector’s document.
Out of date photo ID can be used as long as the image on the ID still looks like you and you have the same name on your ID and the electoral register.
